According to reports, the provisional answer key for UGC NET 2026 shall soon be published by the National Testing Agency (NTA), together with candidates’ response sheets and question papers, on the official website. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) was conducted between June 22 and June 30, 2026, in 87 different subjects.
Post the release of the provisional answer key, candidates may raise objections through the prescribed process within the stipulated period. All such objections raised will then be verified by subject matter experts. The final answer key will be released based on the feedback given by these experts and this answer key will then be used for releasing the UGC NET 2026 result.

The candidates who have appeared for UGC NET 2026 June examination can use the following procedure to download the provisional answer key once it gets released-
- Go to the official site of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in
- Click on the “UGC NET Answer Key 2026” link present on the homepage of the site
- The candidates will be taken to the login page
- Enter the application number, date of birth and security code
- Press the Submit button
- The provisional UGC NET June 2026 answer key will appear on the screen
UGC NET 2026 Result Calculation Based on Answer Key
Once you go through the provisional answer key, you should be able to calculate your expected marks with the help of a marking scheme provided officially by UGC NET 2026.
- Marks per correct answer = 2 Marks
- No penalty for wrong answers or unattempted question.
- Expected Score = Total Correct Answers x 2
